The author has essentially drawn the data for his study from the jurisprudence of the Court itself. After some general reflections on the intervention in the legal procedures of the settlement of disputes, the author presents the types of intervention provided for by the Statute of the International Court of Justice. He then focuses on the common features of these two types of intervention. After investigating the conditions that define these two forms of intervention, Mr. Torres Bernardez examines various issues regarding the intervention's @@@collateral proceeding. The author also analyzes the intervention's object and purpose as a determining factor for the admission or the receivability of an intervention according to the Statute. Mr. Torres Bernardez concludes by reviewing the rights and obligations of the intervening State"--Publisher's description UR - http://referenceworks.brillonline.com/entries/the-hague-academy-collected-courses/*ej.9789041104205.193_457 ER -
