Summary, etc Au cours des vingt dernières années, le droit de la non-discrimination s'est considérablement enrichi. Le terme « discrimination » est désormais utilisé pour dénoncer de nombreuses inégalités de traitement. Mais qu'en est-il de ses usages concrets ? Pourquoi et comment les individus décident-ils de dénoncer une discrimination devant les tribunaux ? Quelles difficultés rencontrent-ils ? Cet ouvrage s'intéresse à l'appropriation de cette catégorie de discrimination dans les litiges du travail. À travers une approche ethnographique auprès de plaignants et d'intermédiaires juridiques (CGT et SOS Racisme), il retrace le parcours difficile des victimes devant les juridictions prud'homales et les stratégies développées pour rendre ce droit plus efficace. S'appuyant sur les apports d'une sociologie pragmatique du droit, l'ouvrage montre comment les normes juridiques sont capables de rétablir occasionnellement la justice au travail. Faire du droit un véritable levier d'égalité dépendra de la capacité des organisations militantes à concilier grammaire juridique, souci des victimes et perspective transformatrice des pratiques sociales.-- Page 4 de la couverture
