Summary, etc Le droit matériel de l'Union européenne semble souvent complexe pour l'observateur extérieur. Sa complexité s'explique essentiellement par la technicité et la densité des domaines régis et la nature du processus d'intégration, toujours plus intense. À cela, s' ajoute la régulière et délicate mise en oeuvre de plusieurs réformes relatives aux procédures comme en témoigne le droit de la concurrence. Pour autant, le droit matériel de l'Union demeure soumis à des principes et mécanismes précis et identifiables que l'auteure s'attache à expliquer et à mettre en évidence. Aussi, l'ouvrage s'articule autour de deux grands axes : les quatre libertés de mouvement, supports fondamentaux du marché intérieur, et l'espace concurrentiel, dont les règles sont applicables aux entreprises privées ou publiques ainsi qu'aux autorités nationales. L'ouvrage met en lumière les développements législatifs et évolutions jurisprudentielles les plus récents de la matière, s'agissant des libertés de circulation, particulièrement les marchandises et personnes, source d'un contentieux fécond mais balisé, et du droit de la concurrence, notamment la jurisprudence Expedia ou les modifications apportées au règlement de procédure en matière d'aides d'État par le nouveau règlement (UE) n° 734/2013. Cette troisième édition s'est substantiellement enrichie de développements sur les diverses techniques d'harmonisation des droits nationaux, adossées au principe de reconnaissance mutuelle, l'intégration douanière notamment sur ses aspects procéduraux à la faveur du nouveau Code des douanes, l'aménagement des monopoles nationaux à caractère commercial, ou encore les différents régimes de circulation et de séjour des ressortissants des État tiers sur le territoire de l'Union.
